Really sorry for the inconvenience, both Aukey and Anker told us the stock should be replenished shortly. Like the others, anxiously waiting for an update as chargers seems to have improved quite a bit lately.
In the meantime will stick with the Anker products, having good luck with them. From a perspective of electrical safety and charging performance, is it better to charge multiple lightning-cabled devices by:.
They give you the described charging performance without having to worry about carrying around multiple charging bricks and a power strip! Really just looking for the cheapest option to charge my iPhone 6 quickly, with the ability to tack on another usb cable to the wall.
Do you know the status on the two port charger. I have been waiting for quite some time now for it to be available. Are they temporarily out of stock? Or is it not in production any more?
Aukey has assured us the two-port charger will be coming back in stock. And if the Aukey 2 port charger is done for. Will you guys do another test for a small travel size charger?
The 2 port Aukey is great, light and reliable with 2 caveats: It has a crazy bright little LED on it, so not good in the bedroom. It is down for the count.
Aukey is hoping to have them restocked ASAP — and so are we. We like it so much! The Aukey charger is back in stock! The link you provided is dead. Sadly the Aukey charger I bought is very futzy.
In some power situations it just will not work the light flashes on briefly and then goes dim. I imagine it might be line noise or maybe I have a defective unit but mine is entirely unreliable — but when it works, I will say, it is great.
Greetings from Sydney, Australia. Household with Note 4 Quick Charge 2. Cheotech 6 port — 2 ports for Quick Charge. Have you guys checked out the other Choe? Hey, I find that tronsmart also have many chargers with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.
And also have dual ports with QC 2. I have bought a 4 ports car charger from Tronsmart using the coupon at androidpolice. The output of that car charger is total 54W.
Love it very much. They also release a type-c car charger with QC 2. Sorry for the delay Taylor! Here is a method how it is possible to earn fifty-five dollars an hour… After being without work for half a year, I started making money over this internet company and now I am very satisfied.
Good work as always! Here in India, we have rounded sockets, and need plugs fit for them. Like the ones provided in the picture below. Now I could buy an Anker, and get a converter that could be plugged into our socket and the anker could be plugged into the converter.
My question for you, does the speed of charging get affected? Maybe in the future. I saw some at Ikea that you build into your nightstand. Have to say it was pretty neat!
A lot of these chargers will do 2. There is an error on this otherwise very well done review. DC-DC chargers like those used in cars are inherently much simpler circuits. A typical car cigarette adapter probably can provide at least 60W of DC power.
Making an equivalent AC-DC charger tiny is a completely different animal. I like it and will buy more Aukey products. Are there any good options out there that can deliver more power.
I am having trouble finding much of anything out there though. I just provided a link for one that supposedly delivers 3. In fact, the Anker 60W 6-port charger http: What am I missing here?
I mostly use it for my iPhone, Fitbit and various bluetooth headphones when necessary. I will say though, that it does have a hefty power adapter that goes into the wall, but I think most things like this do.
I broke a few usb hubs until I found this one: Slim design saves space of your desktop. The model has 3 unpowered USB 3. Needs no additional software — just plug in and use. The Signal Power Station 5 has a ton of one star reviews on Amazon.
Were these present when it was reviewed, should I be nervous purchasing one? I would love to see a review that was for USB charging wall plates. Thanks for doing the research for us.
What does that mean exactly? If I plug in a iPod Classic, does it not charge? Nick, why my post has been deleted? Did this website get sponsored by Anker? You spammed a bunch of your own YouTube videos in the comments section and were flagged.
Sorry for any inconveniences. Sorry, but I did not try to gain attention. Let me try again this time. Spammed in the general sense that you stacked several YouTube links in a comment.
Also, posting a comment, then going back and editing it later to add links afterwards is still going to get flagged. Just letting you know in advance. If you believe it is a seriously important issue, please feel free to email in about it.
Or if you can figure out a way to explain what is going on without 5 videos that would be a great help! Just bought the Signal Power Station 5 and it did not even switch on!
Not sure if it a terrible product as it did not work at all for me. Anyway I suggest to remove the Signal Power Station 5 as a suggested product in this review. Just got the Suaoki reversible-plug 50w 6 ports of Desktop charger.
Check it out if people interest in it. Do you all knew that Anker wall chargers could not recharged non-Anker power banks at more than 1. Pls see my videos for evidence: Even only Max 0.
Beware of this Anker wall chargers for charging non-Anker power banks, it only could recharged at 1. Indeed, it only recharged Asus Zenpower at 0. You can watch at my Youtube channel. Unfortunately, the best wall charger a.
Do third party USB-C chargers fast charge the Pro as well, or is there something in the circuitry of the Apple adapter? I just got the Anker 5-port charger.
It easily charged 3 iPad Airs at a time, plus phones. The power cord can be detached and replaced with international power cords, which I did on a recent trip to Europe. I am wondering about the even larger chargers.
Right now I am looking at the Anker 60w port charger. I am a classroom teacher with 15 devices to charge regularly. Has anyone had any experience with this larger one?
Or another, better one? Any advice is much appreciated! If you have 15 devices to charge, perhaps it would be more practical to get three 6-port chargers? I have several of the Anker port chargers.
I use them all over my house and travel with them as well. They are amazing Always plenty of outlets no matter how many devices I need to charge. If there recommended anker usb charger for this situation?
Wow, amazing, a cool product!!! I had a 40w -6ports charger. Elaborated design, All details are carefully porcessed. Very qualified components AND, 1. Well designed to meet all test 2.
I bought form Amazon for a long time, the actual price are not clear for me. You can search it on the amazon, it is an amazing case for you family members.
Worthy to own one. I need a right angled wall charger for placing behind a headboard. Its a bit old, a bit of a wall wart, and only has one port, but it does the job for now.
Something with a profile like this, where the cable is parallel to the wall? Can you recommend any alternatives to this model? Picture is of the Belkin Charger.
Two USB ports would be a plus. Have you looked at the one from xtrememac. I have an older version of theirs that charges 2 iPads at full speed. I am using it and feel well.
High quality and cheaper. You can have a try. Here is a link you can get it: Is there a review on the best single-port USB charger? I imagine for travelling most people prefer the smallest possible charger?
No, I travel with my phone, Smart watch, and tablet, all of which require frequent charging. Add camera or other devices, and you need even more ports. After a little research, I found that, to protect the circuitry, each port apparently has a safety shutoff.
Fixing it is as simple as unplugging the whole charger from the wall for a few minutes and plugging it back in. In the real world of traveling, the US mains sockets are often worn and cannot take any kind of weight, I recommend for travel the type with a power cord which has no weight connect to a charging brick.
This can make use of short USB cables which is more efficient. Anker is great, absolutely! Compare to Anker, charger of Allmaybe brand seems to rival in its quality and even excels in details such as noise and ripple.
So my conclusion is that the judgement is not fair if the website is not sponsored by Anker. Anker 60W Powerport teardown review: Could I request a new post but instead of power bricks, an article with in-wall USB outlets?
Hey Mark, hope you saw our new post! But using a QC2. Would I see a difference using a QC charger over these? About the same, but it charges at 12V instead of 9V like most phones which should be more tolerant of higher resistance cables.
It's snappier, but they effed up fast charging, it now charges at 5V only like a regular tablet. Among other things they screwed were USB OTG you need to restart the tablet with the thing plugged for it to work, but that disables charging, for which you need to restart again, and somehow it seems to be messing with a lot of people's speakers, though I haven't seen that personally.
So what happened to those that have updated to this problematic version? Did they get a notice to downgrade or something? It was only mentioned in a forum comment not even in a post by an NV staff member, but people aren't getting the upgrade OTA notice anymore.
If you need to downgrade you can use a factory image but NV isn't helping you out for downgrading. I would also like to know what can be done about the 3. I've been struggling to find out why my OTG cable stopped working and haven't seen this issue referenced anywhere else, so thanks for the heads up!
Right now people are just waiting. Since I don't have any super critical problems, I'm also just waiting. If you want to go back I think the only recourse is to use a factory image from the NV developers site.
The only Anker is the one in the post, and that one is a rebrand that sells under several different brands. Thanks, I didn't realize that. From their description, it seemed like the IQ technology was QC 2.
I'll have to pick up a QC 2. I have been recording my battery charging stats in a spreadsheet as I experiment with different chargers, so I should be able to tell pretty quickly.
Thanks for the info! Hmm, based on my experience with the Moto X with the Motorola Turbo Charger, which has the 12v mode, it does appear to use the 12v mode of the turbo charger. That's the saturation effect.
The voltage goes down as the battery saturates because the lithium ion cells can't go into overvoltage. I've tried to think of an analogy for this effect but it's kind of..
But basically, yes, it will slow down when it gets to a certain point, the tl;dr being that's just how lithium ion batteries work. You slow down filling a large jug of water as it reaches the top so it won't overflow.
What about something like a high speed chase? You go from driving really fast to slowing down as you get caught, until you come to a stop. Do you always use quick-charge? Or only when you really need it?
Depends how much heat is generated and how long the battery is heated to that temperature. I've not seen any scientific data on this. I would guess, for most people, the effect is not going to be all that dramatic in terms of cycle longevity.
If so, after how many rechargings? Interesting thoughts about OEM and fake chargers Yeah, never buy an "OEM" charger from anything but the manufacturer's website. Every el-cheapo ebay cable isn't supported for quick charging.
They usually allow about mAh to pass through. You need high quality cables that probably came with your smartphone in order for quick charging to work. I have done several tests with my Note 4 with several cables and an adapter that meters the output Amperage.
If you're going on eBay to buy cables, as with anything electronic, god speed - the amount of counterfeit and generally terrible stuff there is mind boggling. I don't know what gauge it is, but it works with my fast charger.
It is somewhere around the thickness of a CAT5 cable. But do NOT get the red tipped charge only cable, it will not work with quick charge 2. Well, it will work, but you will not get QC 2.
But the red tip one will help you to get the most out of your charger for a conventional device and added security at a computer. It also depends on the gauge of the wire. A 24awg wire will be able to hand the 2A coming from one of these chargers.
You have to search for wires that have 24awg. Cables shouldn't affect Quick Charge specifically. Generally you need better cables to support higher amperage not mAh as that is capacity and is irrelevant to cables, and Quick Charge has slightly lower amperage since it ups the voltage instead.
That being said, standard USB is only mV so cheap cables might not handle more than that, but Quick Charge hasn't changed anything in that regard. Maybe that's a good future article for AndroidPolice?
Device almost depleted with Screen On and Off or Device completely off. Same for quick charger that came with the note 4 with its own cable and several different ones from other flagships or from ebay with all the above conditions as well plus Quick Charging Turned On in the Settings too.
Cables seem to matter more than anything. I have tested about twelve old and new cables and very few charge at max. I found one on amazon that does, finally. Going so far back as the original Nexus 7, Nexus 5, blackberry classic, Nexus 6, Nexus 10, moto, and Nvidia shield tablet, I was getting hit or miss results.
Finally I decided to try every combination and use a battery meter to confirm charging speed and I was pretty shocked that the vast majority of the time it was the cable that was not performing.
Most of these cables where from older generations of phones, all micro USB. I believe the Motorola TurboChargers have the adapter and cable fused together so you don't have to worry about a cable.
Or you can buy a separate turbocharger and use the charging cable with your phone because typically the cords are of high quality. You speak the truth! I was wondering why my ThinkPad Tablet 2 was always charging slowly at home, regardless of which AC adapter was being used, but I eventually narrowed it down to the thin-gauge Samsung-brand MicroUSB cable.
One thing I never took into account until I ran across a random XDA post explaining it is cable quality. I figured there had to be a middle ground between expensive OEM cords and the ones I've been buying off of monoprice that are cheaper than my exes.
I don't mind spending 8 bucks on a good cable if it'll do the job and not break on me:. So in summary, works as a regular charging cable. These cables will not work with a "Fast Charging" device or charger.
The so called "charging"-cables doesn't support more than 1. Or to be more precise according to the USB standard a connected device must not draw more than 1. Probably to some extent, but I don't think anyone's assembled enough data points to say for certain how much.
I don't think it's THAT much, because I'm guessing OEMs did test it before deciding to integrate it into their products and felt any loss was acceptable in light of the improved performance. Of course the OEMs tested it, but also they want you to purchase the new battery sooner.
Thanks for all the productive comments, guys, you're pointing out stuff I forgot to mention or simply didn't know - it's super helpful. I've updated the article with a high-quality USB cable suggestion though there are other options.
Does it have something to do with Quick Charge 1. A lot of dual or multi-port chargers have a "fast" and "slow" port, so no, I don't think it's anything explicitly to do with QC, so much as just saving a buck.
Great article, thanks for the clear explanation! I'd love to see a teardown of some of these chargers to find out which ones are actually built better electrically.
On the flipside to that, what about phones that have a recent Qualcomm SoC but aren't on the catalog of 'select' products that have received marketing dollars to get on the list?
Take the el-cheapo MotoE2, for instance. My biggest question about quick charge is what is it doing to the health our batteries? David, there is one QC2. If not, why other vendors don't offer it.
Just a heads up, you made a typo in the paragraph about marketing. You said "and Samsung would you like their charger from them. Does the quick charge degrade the battery faster than a regular charge?
Or should I save it for rare special occasions? Great article indeed rdr0b Something very different than Quick Charge 2. It would have made thing more clear. Anyway relly helpful article for majority of the readers, i guess..!!
NThe technology is not based on Qualcomm Quick Charge? I might be wrong but VOOC is a very different thing. I am not claiming this is witch craft.. A bunch of words without any substance. The most critical part of a fast charger is the cable.
That doesn't mean gauging. You could pretty much sum up the entire article in one sentences.. I read it all waiting for some revelation that pretty much never came Anxiously awaiting USB type-C; in the meanwhile, learning a little about the power consumption requirements of my Galaxy S3 after a couple bulging batteries and struggling with it falling behind in charge while plugged into AC while using it pretty much strictly for wireless tethering with FoxFi.
Had it plugged into an old HTC Touch Pro 2 1amp after the original adapter finally wore out and couldn't do much more than light surfing on 1 PC without it starting to slowly lose a charge. Depends on how much juice is currently in the battery, I think.
When I had an N5 on KitKat, the battery icon would be white on gray if there was only a little charge, and then slowly change to black on white as it gained more charge.
This is the best technology that charges the Smartphones powered by Quick Charge 2. The technology is similar, and you can use QC 2. Didn't cover vooc flash charging though. For anyone curious, the vooc is different in that it stays at 5V and dumps a shitload of current down.
The charger and the cable are very expensive and needed. Nice article David - very timely with much needed info. In addition to what you discuss, there are many confusing marketing terms claiming to be "fast chargers".
For instance, "USB charger provides high power rapid charge for cell phones, etc In fact these are nothing more than 5 volt USB chargers capable of supplying higher current - typically over 2 amps per port.
The claim further goes on to say they "automatically detect and provide the exact current needed to rapidly charge your device". Well, duh, a device will only take the current it needs so this statement is double talk.
In summary, if the "adaptive fast charger" doesn't supply 5 volts PLUS at least one higher voltage, it probably doesn't comply with the Qualcom 2. All time hit the androidpolice Find Here.
Some time hit the androidpolice Find Here. How did you check on the LG G4 that the charger was a quick charger? As far as I know, the G4 supports it, but doesn't have an indicator.
Also through Amazon a Brit company, PortaPow, offers a 20 gage charging cable in both its red tipped USB charge only cable and its green tipped. To make use of Quick Charge 2.
Because you have to have a minor data connection, between the phone and the charger, for Quick Charge 2. Another good charging cable on Amazon, for Quick Charge 2.
The charging wire in it is 20 gauge. But for quick charge 2. Those will not work at QC speeds with quick charge 2. You will only get conventional charging speeds out of the charger if you use them.
That being said, I very much do like the red tipped charge only cables for use with conventional chargers and for extra security when using public computers. So is quick charge 2. I have an LG G4 and I do not seem to get quick charge speeds when the phone is on just sitting idle as opposed to it being off.
I mean, I know a phone generally charges faster when it is off, however, relatively speaking, you would think a quick charge 2. I'm wondering if using a Quick Charger every night will shorten my cell phone's battery life.
I could continue to use a legacy charger for overnight charging since I don't need a fast charge then. I'll continue to do that if Quick Charge shortens battery life.
With new phones featuring non-removable batteries, yes it DOES matter how long your battery lasts. And I will extend my battery's life because I love my phone.
It depends on the device. Some will say "fast charging" in the battery info menu. On the Samsung S6, there's a little notification that comes up on the top that says "fast charger connected.
So sounds like the charger has a circuit that tells the S6 to create the pull for the higher charge? Rather than the S6 just taking it if the charger is able?
The supplied charger for those is a 5v 3A charger and Google has not said the phone is qualcomm quick charge certified. Are they going with a different charging method to ramp up the amperage and keep the voltage constant at 5v?
If so, guess I need to look for a charger capable of outputting 3 amps. Product information Product Dimensions 4. For warranty information about this product, please click here.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later. I have to edit this review with the following information, which is also causing me to change this review from a four-star rating to a three-star rating.
The power adapter has failed, after very light usage. As of two days ago, only the top port the one closer to the light will charge anything. The lower port is completely dead, and will not charge.
I describe my usage as light because except for my initial testing of the device to be able to write this review, the charger has been plugged in to an outlet near my bed stand, with a cable plugged in to just one of the ports, and once a day at most required to charge my phone.
The cable has not been repeatedly removed and replaced, and both ports have not been used at the same time. It is very surprising to me that an Anker charger would fail with such light usage.
Anker is replacing it, of course. My original review appears below, unedited. It has two Quick Charge 3. The max charge rate I saw, using a utility, was 4. The highest I've ever seen on my HTC 10 is 4.
This is an inconsequential difference, in my opinon. The finish on the unit is more like other Anker chargers, though perhaps a bit higher quality than the finish on another Anker Quick Charge 3.
This charger returns to the typical plastic finish you are probably familiar with if you have purchased other Anker chargers in the past. Another difference between the two chargers is that this one has smoother, rounded edges and corners.
The older charger had squared edges. I included some photos, comparing the two chargers. You can see that while the other charger is larger, it has a plug that can be folded into the charger body.
This charger's plug is fixed, and can't be folded in any way. I see this as a pretty significant negative for a charger Anker is marketing as a travel charger. For one, it increases the overall footprint of this charger so that it is actually larger than the other charger.
Please see included photos. More importantly, I don't want to throw anything into my laptop bag that has fixed, somewhat pointy pieces of metal sticking out from it.
Aside from the fact that I might damage the item itself, carrying something like that could also cause damage to the contents of my computer bag if bumped, pushed, or squeezed the wrong way.
I have no idea why Anker chose not to allow the plug to fold, but I really think they should have. This would have been a five-star review if they had. As you can also see from my included photos, while this charger weighs less than the older, larger one, it is not all that much less.
The older, larger charger weighs grams, and this charger weighs grams, for a difference of 35 grams, or just over an ounce. My original plan was to swap this charger into my computer bag for travel, as I expected it to be significantly smaller and lighter than my large, older charger.
Unfortunately because of the similarity in size and weight, and, most importantly, because the plug does not fold, I will have to find a different use for this charger, and keep carrying my older charge when I travel.
One advantage this charger has over others is the blue light above the charging ports. There is a light sensor, so that light brightens and dims based on the available light.
Please see annotated photo. Another plus is the orientation of the fixed plug, which allows the charger to be plugged in to a charging strip without taking up more than one outlet.
The next part of this review will discuss what Quick Charge is and is not. If you are already very familiar with Quick Charge standards, feel free to skip the next several paragraphs. I want to make sure, in writing this review, that people reading it understand what Quick Charge 3.
Because from reading many reviews of similar products, it is pretty clear to me that there is a lot of confusion on this subject. Only a very few devices out there currently take advantage of the Quick charge 3.
You can find a list of them, as of April 2, on Qualcomm's site. There are seven phone models on that list. More are being introduced all the time, of course. That list from Qualcomm also shows which devices can take advantage of Quick Charge 2.
There are a lot more of those devices on the list. Here's the important point: Apple devices are not Quick Charge devices! That's not to say this charger won't do a great job of charging your Apple devices.
It most certainly will. It just isn't going to charge those devices any faster than any other charger capable of supplying 2. If you've been using a 1. But that has nothing to do with the Quick Charge technology, and everything to do with the increased amps this charger is providing your phone.
I certainly want people reading this review to purchase this charger if it is the right charger for them, and if they are buying it for the right reasons. I just don't want to see someone who is already charging their Apple devices with a 2.
Another issue to be aware of is the charge cable. This charger does not ship with any cables.

To take advantage of the full capabilities of Quick Charge 3. If you're going to buy this charger, buy it for the right reasons.
It's from Anker, so you know it is going to last. It has the Anker guarantee. It is clearly well-designed, and put together well. It has a nice, solid feel to it.
With two charging ports, both capable of Quick Charge 3. This is a great, top of the line charger, and you won't go wrong buying it. Just make sure that if you do, you buy it for the right reasons!
I did receive this Anker charger at no charge, in exchange for my unbiased review. I hope you found this review helpful. If you leave a comment on the review, suggesting how it would be more helpful, I promise to respond to your comment, and to attempt to incorporate your suggestion in my review, if it is at all possible for me to do so.
My goal is to write reviews that help people, as I have been helped by the reviews others have written. Comment people found this helpful. Was this review helpful to you? I don't get "wow'd" by a wall charger very often.
I even bought and reviewed some more expensive wall charger with dual or more ports that I don't like as much as this one. This is a powerful 2-port charger from Anker. Not just it came with unique design, It also support Qualcomm quick charging 3.
While smartphone manufacturers upgrade their flagship devices every year. I don't see a lot of accessories manufacturers upgrade their accessories from their predecessor.
I saw other 3 stars reviews that complained about the size of this wall charger. Yes, This is not the smallest wall charger that available on the market. But I am sure this is one of the most powerful wall charger that manufacture by top brand Anker.
I don't care about the compact size, I don't need foldable plug. All that matter for me is that this charger support 9v 2A or 12V 1. Even if your device is not Quick Charge compatible, this charger will still give your device the most power it can handle using its proprietary PowerIQ and VoltageBoost technologies.
First say that your charge time may different based on many factors such as the amount of running apps, WiFi connections, Bluetooth connections and even the age of your phone.
Different smartphone manufacturers use slightly different power controller that built-in your smartphone. Qualcomm's Quick Charge technology relies on delivering a higher voltage to the battery to expedite charging time.
With Quick Charge 3. And now on the OnePlus 3 as Dash Charge. OPPO uses dedicated circuity in the wall unit for heat management and dissipation, which is why you can only get Dash Charge speeds with the bundled wall charger.
So what I am trying to say is that charging speed may be vary. So with regular wall charger I was only able to charge my Galaxy S7 at 4. This number may be vary by the percentage of the battery left in your phone.
It is a wall charger. It gets the job done pretty well. But wait a second, there is one more thing that really really impressed me. It is not the LED indicator light. It is the light sensor that locate right above the LED light.
That sensor makes LED light smarter. It will automatically adjusts brightness to match lighting. I have never seen this on a wall charger before. Overall I am so happy with this new product from Anker.
I owned 7 different brands wall charger, This is the best one. I received a sample of this charger for reviewing purposes. I am not affiliated with this company and make no promises of a good rating while reviewing the product.
I test the product thoroughly and do my best to provide a review to other Amazon customers so they may make informed decisions. This discount did not affect my opinion or review in any way.
If you have any questions or comments, please comment or message and I will be glad to help! Comment 97 people found this helpful. I can fast charge my Android Galaxy S7 and my iPad.
I like that the width of the charger fits sideways in a standard power strip and power receptacle. This allows it to not get in the way of other plugs. I keep this at my work desk so I don't care about the blue LED light at night, but if it was plugged in my bedroom, I would have to stick some black electrical tape over the LED to maximize darkness for optimal sleep.
Also, I would have liked for the outlet plug prongs to be able to fold up somehow. My other chargers with foldable plugs aren't always that effective and fold when I don't want them to, but this is a quality charger that I want to travel with, so I want them to fold securely and then lock in the open position for ease of plugging.
Comment 16 people found this helpful. This Anker wall charger works wonderfully. It is able to fast charge both my cell phone Samsung Galaxy 6 and my tablet Samsung Tab 4 8" , at the same time.
The tablet has been especially finicky about what chargers and cables it will work with, but it has no problem with this charger, even with a 6 foot cable.
Good charger that works well even with a device that rejects some other chargers. Not as portable as some other chargers A little large, and the plug prongs don't fold up. It's not hard to pack, just not quite as easy as some other chargers.
Note that the specifications for this item say it is 2. If you include them it is closer to 3. Comment 6 people found this helpful.
I used the iClever travel charger pick and it was working great but quit charging after two months. Hopefully the new one lasts you a good long time.
If you need to charge 10 tablets, you might be better off with a pair of the 6 port chargers. Is this a common problem with multiport wall chargers? Is there anything out there that can beat the Macbook adapter for my special case?
I like to travel light with few cables and adapters as posible. Need to replace the link on the 6-port: We are looking into this now and will replace the link as soon as we find stock elsewhere.
It seems like that would necessarily block additional outlets from being used in many cases. Personally, I would want a quick charger with multiple ports to have its own cable so that you could put it on top of a table, or some other convenient surface.
That way people could use it without crawling on the floor and trying to squeeze their cables into the crevice behind a piece of furniture, or whatever. Any cable worth having adds considerable bulk when throwing it in my backpack.
But I can then use much shorter cables per device. I have an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch to charge most nights. The one with a cord is actually ideal for travelling as you can then get a local cable and it will fit securely and firmly into the wall outlet.
Thank you for a very useful article. Can you supply the model number for the upgraded iClever dual charger that you tested? Also, are you sure your link goes to the upgraded model? Reviews of this model: Do these USB charges have built in surge protection?
I see nothing mentioned about this issue in the features sections of the products. If these products have no surge protection, is this because surges are less likely to affect devices that are charging via USB outlets?
For more best rated tv soundbar and portable speakers can find us with google search chinagoodbrands. This can be updated now as the After all the ballyhooing and rah-rahing I purchased the 4 port charger with one QC port and was disappointed to discover that the QC port was defective and slow as all get out.
Maybe Anker is the best and has the best reviews but right now I give them one star for this device. While I still like Anker overall, we had 3 of their recent PowerPort-2 chargers go flaky and then die while traveling in Brazil for several weeks.
Besides that they are also quite large an heavy. This text is no longer accurate now that your pick is the PowerPort 4: Tests in the image. Can you please clarify the updated Anker PowerPort 2 Elite vs your previous pick?
You indicate you updated the recommendation to match the latest model but the links and model names are unclear…. Anker PowerPort 4 The best multiport USB charger Affordable, fast, and compact, this watt charger is great for use at home or on the road.
Anker 60W Charger A more powerful pick For those who need more ports and more power, Anker's watt charger is the way to go. Skiva StandCharger 7-Port USB Charging Station An organizational docking station Ideal for families with up to seven devices, this dock charges tablets at full speed and keeps the setup tidy.
Why you should trust us Who is this for? How we picked and tested Our pick Flaws but not dealbreakers Long-term test notes A pick with more ports and more power A small travel pick An organizational docking station Fast-charging the iPad Pro Quick Charge 2.
A selection of the chargers we tested. Michael Hession Our pick. Michael Hession Also great. We have this but only the 2 ports are powered https: It will have the same charging time if the phone is not QC2.
Do you mean no devices plugged to the charger? I tested my Anker 60W 6-ports with no phone attached, the result was zero current….. I just spent a while looking for one of these and pulled the trigger a week before this posted.
Please consider adding that information to the review. We chose to leave that out because of our conclusions on the 40W. What cable did you use to charge the Retina Macbook? I would love to know which one to get.
Yeah…but looks like Aukey copied Anker…. Lifetime warranties are only relevant if the company is likely to be around in a lifetime. Will I still have my 5 port usb charger after 5 years?
I prefer a charger that attaches to a power cord for several reasons: Thank you for the feedback! Try ventev r dashport. Keep the reviews coming! Working on it sit tight!
We aim to please! Thanks for the kind words! Dear Wirecutter, From a perspective of electrical safety and charging performance, is it better to charge multiple lightning-cabled devices by: Any advice is appreciated.
Would you guys be able to toss a couple more in for testing? Which do you guys think is best? The Aukey 2 port charger is back in stock. We can take a look at it when we update! Can anyone confirm that this will charge both an Xbox One and PS4 controller?
Let me check with Nick! The speed should not be affected, no. I use choetech 6 port smart detect wall charger with 2 QC 2.
