I was without my phone for 2 weeks, it came back and apparently all they did was replace the battery because it went dead again and would not recharge. Crud Reviewed on Thursday October 20, by sue, Ohio.

Alcatel one touch is the biggest piece of crud out there. I can't block a call from a robotic telephone preacher and I can't get notifications for text messages coming in. Oh, and every time I add minutes, the phone will not receive picture texts until I call customer support to reset.

I've read the other reviews and they are pretty much the same, bad! But, myself personally don't see it this way. I have literally owned around 60 cell phones by now, no exaggeration. I am very computer and tech savvy, so no dummy here.

Out of the vast array of phones I've used, my favorites were the good ole Razor, Samsung Motorola E, and now this Alcatel One Touch Pop Icon, yes the name is goofy but it doesn't deserve this harsh criticism it's receiving.

I can run several apps at once with little lag. Ok, so you can't save to the micro memory card, that's a stupid oversight from Alcatel, but regardless this phone has been amazing, fast, easy to use and it's loaded with awesome features.

I bought a nice little black snap together cover for it and the phone is still slim, I love the way it feels in my hand, it's an all around really nice and tough cell phone.

Take it from me, I've actually driven off with cell phones on the roof if my car about 4 times already, so I know what tough includes. Google it up for yourself and see.

Enjoy it like I do mine. Frank Fresh North Jersey. For my first smart phone not a bad experience not happy with Google wanting to update apps all the time and using up all memory but if you do not allow up grades phone works well.

Why is this phone still being sold. I can't check my voicemail. Keeps saying storage space running out and that was on day one of use 30 minutes after activation. It does what it wants to do.

I have had it replaced 3 times. Reviewed on Tuesday August 2, by Brandy, Canada. I was convinced to buy this phone by the store clerk because all my mom needed it for was texting.

Then suddenly one day it bricked to the white screen with the logo and no matter what we try or search online we can't fix it. Monumental waste of time and money not to mention giving grief to someone new to smartphones.

She wants her landline back! I was suckered into buying this in some t-mobile "special" offer. Yes, I know, I'm the one who is to blame in this blind transaction. It is not worth one slim penny.

T-Mobile knew this was garbage when it was foisted on me. I did not do my due diligence - so I must take responsibility for this costly disaster. T-Mobile made a fool of me. Don't let them make a fool of you.

After exactly 13 days the phone does not receive or send calls. Tracfone says its the phone itself not service. Considering the reviews why is this phone still on the market? Alcatel cell phones suck.

Don't ever play games using this phone. You can not even pull the trigger. Especially, when you try to aim. Whoever said this phone is awesome eat shit. I have had this phone for about two weeks now and some features are hard to figure out.

I have also had trouble when trying to enter my password for voice mail messages, it adds numbers that I didn't even press. If someone calls and leaves a voicemail, their number doesn't come up either.

Sometimes the alarm also only goes off twice and then snoozes itself. This phone does not live up to Alcatel standards. Phone calls, apps, internet, everything. The screen also "jumps" when you press it, sometimes it even exits out of whatever you are doing with no warning at all.

I should've read the reviews before purchasing because it seems that I am not the only one with problems This is a POS and anyone who says otherwise has never had a real hand-held operative device for a lengthy amount of time.

This MF is about to hit it's highest point, the bottom of the swamp of water we got in IL yesterday I have had this phone for about 3 months now. I wish I could get my old phone back. There is nothing about this phone that is one touch.

Cant text, jumps all over the pace. If you push send, well 4 or5 times. Then it calls the first number up. Take 4 5 touchs to end it. Then it turns its self off. It really is pour quality.

I may leave Sprit over this. I have talked to them, and emailed them to no help. Had it a week now. I only got it because I went with a new plan so why not an upgraded phone also.

This phone is by far a pile of s hit. I was happy with the memory, screen size and look of the phone over all but you can't really use it for anything. The purpose of streaming video is so you might be able to watch the video.

This thing hops from screen shot to screen shot. If I hit pause it takes a good 5 to 8 seconds to actually pause. I have great phone calls that I have to share with the world because no one can hear me unless I put it on speaker.

I see lots of complaints about picture quality but mines good. I have no charging or battery issues that I know of. But if I want to play ANY games on this thing the screen will lag.

I know now that the person that sold me this is full of s hit to. He had it lagging in his hand when I bought the phone and service, but he said it must be the wifi at the time Is there some update I did see.

I got this phone because I was just stretching out the life of my Old HTC to the point of loosing my mind with it. But honestly, this new phone sucks like ten times worse then my outdated POS.

Guys it's really sad that I turn on hotspot on this phone just so I can use my old out of date phone, just going sad. Y'all tell me if I'm wrong or need to go to some web site and get a down load.

I'm not so big headed that I won't acknowledge that I was wrong and after the update the phone was great. I'll tell the world. But as of this sec I'm telling the world as often as I can that your phones suck large piles of donkey s hit.

Having to use my old phone via hotspot, and don't msg me back telling me it's because I deactivated like 15 useless apps. I did that in hopes of resolving the lag and video issues.

No I won't turn them on again. I'd rather loose this paper weight and tell the world about you. Maybe start a blog and post me using my old phone for videos and whatnot while hooked up to your newer phone.

Alcatel customer and software reps Reviewed on Tuesday April 19, by eli, martinez. Dear Eli, We'd be more than happy to help, however, we would need a bit more information. For example what's the exact model number of your phone?

It's usually 4 numbers and 1 letter and found under the battery on the phone itself. Tuesday, March 22, 5: Contact Form - eli dominguez Phone Model: Regardless we will forward your request to the corresponding department.

Reviewed on Monday April 4, by Lola, Colorado. This is the worst phone in the world!!! You can't download anything. Google won't work and it just acts up way too much. When someone calls me, I can't see that cuz it won't ring and so it will pop up an hour later.

I would recommend this phone to someone who only wants to text and call. Bought this for my wife at Xmas. Worked for 2 months them quit sending and receiving calls. Straight talk sent a new sim card.

Took sim card out and put in a different brand of phone and worked perfect. Alcatel absolutely will not work. I have owned this phone 7 months, and it's a decent budget phone. I've rooted and customized the heck out of it.

You can download an SD card fix app that will allow you to save apps to the SD card. An external camera app makes a big difference for photo quality. Run a phone cleaner app daily for much improved performance.

Reviewed on Wednesday March 9, by sopheya, california. The phone is great but Alcatel sucks! This has to be the biggest piece of junk I have ever had the misfortune of owning. The camera is the worst quality.

Every picture comes out blurry. There is only 1GB of memory which doesn't even allow one app to be on the phone without losing email service and constantly getting low storage notifications.

The phone stopped functioning almost completely and the only way to get things to work again was to delete every text, call log and even doing this didn't restore the email service. Nothing can be moved to the sd card to make room so that was a waste of money.

Also, there are multiple home screens which makes no sense; icons jump all over the place at any given time. I have talked with tech support a few times and gone to the t mobile store.

They advised me to upgrade my phone. I installed one app on this phone and that's it. So if you want to do anything with your phone besides talk or text, steer clear of this one.

Let me start off by saying the good reviews HAVE to be fake reviews because this phone is garbage. The camera is horrible, all pictures come out blurry and the front camera is so terrible its not even usable.

There's about enough memory for one app to be downloaded. Buying a memory card does no good because majority of apps including Facebook cannot be placed on the SD card, they have to be on phone storage.

If someone texts you a picture you have to download it before seeing it, which it takes about 10 minutes to download one image and even then only works about a third of the time. Same goes for sending pictures, although if you completely restart your phone and quickly send a photo right when it turns back on then it will send it within seconds.

Which is fine if you enjoy restarting your phone every time you want to send a picture. I love love love this phone. Hey people with the bad reviews, phones only works right when you have patience to learn them.

When you are slamming then down on the floor they aren't gonna work! All you have to do is call your phone provider and ask questions Oh yeah you have to be a little patient Life takes patients people.

T-mobile has been very helpful with me when I call and ask for help with anything I don't understand. Unfortunately people with no patience in life don't get anything resolved. Too bad for them.

This phone is easy to understand and if you have to take notes when you call to remember things then do it!!!!!!!! I didn't have to pay for my phone because I have been a customer of T-mobile for over 9 years now and they just sent me a free replacement phone because husband stepped on it accidentally and bent the charge port.

Love Love Love this phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has lots of bells and whistles too! I have the pop Astro not the Icon. When you are slamming then down on the floor they arent gonna work!

I didn't have to pay for my Alcatel because I have been a customer of T-mobile for over 9 years now and they just sent me a free replacement phone because husband stepped on it accidentally and bent the charge port.

The price was great, navigation was great! For most part, I love the phone; but I can't send or receive pics to save my life! I post pics on FB or Twitter, but I can't send or receive pics via texts.

This phone is extremely hard to navigate for an experienced smartphone user! We bought 2 of these because the store had a special. Big mistake my husband is new to smartphone use, therefore the difficulty of trying to answer a call or look up a contact he ended up slamming the phone in the ground and breaking it.

Now I'm out the money and the phone. I will never buy one of these again and I warn all my family and friends against Alcatel products. You will go a poor upgrade support for any new android versions because do not worry about low cost phone can be upgraded after they launch it with a minor version.

This is the worst phone, EVER. Customer support isn't any better. They had me factory reset which didn't help. Then failed to reply with an alternative solution. Don't waste your money on this phone!!!

Extreme Frustration should be the name of this phone it is a piece of junk. Trouble with the ringer volume, SD card access, wont sync with any computer, mutes your talk, among many other issues.

Do not waste your money. Phone worked for about a week, couldn't get calls or messages. Took it back to the store got it replaced, same thing couldn't make or receive calls unless I'm in the house where there is Wi-Fi called for tech support, went through all there time of doing this that and every thing, nothing worked finally after about 5 calls to them they had me send them the phone, they sent a new phone it worked for a week, now back to nothing.

I bought this phone in June as my first-ever android. At the price that I paid, I wasn't expecting a lot, so I was very happy with everything about this phone. Ease of use, sound quality, picture and video quality.

I can even send texts via voice command I mean seriously, how can you go wrong? Living very close to the ocean with many "dead" spots, I had experienced problems with my previous phone, but this one has been great.

Lately, however, the battery is draining fast at times, but not consistent, so it could be a problem app. All in all, I feel this phone was an excellent value. Gets hot running Google maps and charging, shuts off randomly, very weak antenna, low volume, weak flashlight, flash on camera is worthless, and picture quality inferior.

Videos are saved as something different not mp4 , drops calls in my apartment. It quit letting me make or receive calls after two days. I contacted technical support at straight talk and they fooled with trying to get it to work.

They couldn't, so they told me that it was defective and to return it. I did and got another one, it lasted two days. It took almost three weeks before technical support told me to return the second one to Straight Talk.

Straight Talk sent me a third one. It lasted two days. I contacted technical support again and they did not want to talk to me about it said that Verizon's towers were down and that they couldn't do anything until towers were up again.

Verizon's towers were not down, because other family members who are also on Straight Talk were able to use their phones that use Verizon's towers. This phone is just not a good phone.

I plan on calling straight Talk back again tomorrow and hopefully they will refund my money, because I do not want another one. What I am trying to say is this phone isn't worth the time it takes to order one or to go to a store to purchase one.

Please do not waste your money. I have paid for the phone plus two months of service that I have not been able to use because not any of the phones worked, but I had to keep service in order for them to work on my phone.

I guess that is how Straight Talk makes some of their money, from dummies like me. Alcatel phone horrible waste of money! Reviewed on Sunday November 1, by Dee, Denver. Do not waste your money on this phone.

Constant issues sound visual quality, camera, no storage very substandard product! Found out how to edit contacts. Go to the contact that you need to edit then tap the lower right button - by the charging port.

Otherwise the phone is growing on me. Button layout still is not great but the phone has performed well, especially at its price point. If you want more phone-bring more dollars.

Had high expectations after reading the specs on the box it came in. Set up on the Total wireless plan and so far am happy with that part. In setting up the phone with contacts, made a few errors that need to be corrected.

Ok now what - unable to find any way to edit existing contacts or information on this in the very brief manual or even a customer service phone number. My opinion is the phone is at least as cheep as it is inexpensive.

Button layout could be better, however could adapt to it. Starting to see some of the other issues pop up that are in the other reviews. All every customer needs to do is check where they do repairs.

One place only in Ontario. So as I was only one phone they said to send it to that place they would tell me how much to repair. I checked how long it would take, about a month then I might get it repaired.

This company could care less about its customers. This phone is junk Reviewed on Sunday October 11, by cody, pennsylvania. I've had this phone for less than a month and I've already had many problems.

Like I said most modern smart phones have at least 5 gb internal storage. Also most phones you can move some apps to your sd card like the LG ultimate 2 with the same operating system.

You can move picts, music, etc to the sd card with no problem, just not the apps themselves. They don't show in the storage area but I see them when I check using The file manager. For all of those who care, The Pop Icon scored a 16, on Antutu benchmark.

I just ordered The Pop Icon. Tracfone really has great deals! I'm pretty happy with my Pop Icon phone now. It's the best smartphone offered by Tracfone so far. I found a pretty good cover for it off Amazon.

The Alcatel One Touch Fierce 2 covers fit perfectly to the pop icons dimensions if a search for the Pop Icon does not come up with anything. I bought mine at Walmart for I really like this phone..

Not sure what it is now. Do they all make a guy feel dumb at first? I purchased an Alcatel Pop Icon phone for my wife at Christmas. So far we are happy with the phone except for one odd behavior.

However, if she attempts to text our son who lives in another area code, the texts will sometimes go through correctly and sometimes go through garbled and sometimes not go through at all.

Has anyone else noted this behavior? Is it caused by this phone or by Tracfone itself? Thanks for any info you have. Yeah but storeage is so cheap now and this Alcatel only put 2GB of storeage in this nice phone?

What a joke, with all the cool apps and now that that you can't move apps to your sd card. They only give you 2gb of storeage? And most of that 2GB is already taking up by Google apps. This phone has tons of Google apps preinstalled and you can't get rid of them to mke more room.

As cheap as memory is in this day and age, Alcatel should not make a phone without a min. I'm an owner and it's very frustrating. I had purchased an 8gb SD thinking I could do just that and found out that some data gets saved there and maybe not.

If you're lucky a file manager might work. The file managers I've used don't do just that. The phone is great but I curse Androids OS, s move on limiting apps to just the built in memory.

I know it's a security thing but I think what you need to do is simply press the power button and volume down button for about seconds. Tell me if it works. After working with Tracfone for several hours we jointly decided the phone itself was defective.

Tracfone is replacing it free. Hopefully the new one works correctly. Tracfone was very helpful during this annoying experience. Every time I take my Alcatel One touch out of my pocket it launches one of the applications I accidentally touched.

How can I stop this? What I do is to press the power button as a quick press to blank out the screen before it goes in my pocket. This prevents anything from being launched accidently.

Another quick press brings it back to an active screen. I hope that helps. Alcatel one touch pop icon is a very good phone. But ony 2 GB Rom. If Tracfone offer 5.

Does anyone know what the screen is made out of. Gorilla Glass or cheap plastic? And if so is it the same as the LG Ultimate 2. Alcatel does make a 6" phone review: The problem with the ROM is that with Android 4.

This is said to be an anti-hacking protection. A minimum 32 GB should thus be included in the built-in ROM then - considering the cost of the memory is almost negligible compared to the cost of the phone.

I bought this phone a week ago and it has a plastic screen. I am also having the low memory issue because of the locked down microSD storage. You can't do nothing once it fills up. Do not buy any phone with out at least 16gbs of space, 32gb would do you better.

This also happens in some games I've tried Real Racing 3 and Tengai so it's not an internet connection problem, but a fault with the phone's hardware. It's the main issue that keeps me from wanting to use it.

The other major drawback is that there is only about 2GB of usable storage space and you can't move apps to the microSD card. The front facing camera is blurrier than LG. There are also less customization options and features than the LG.

I ended up giving the Alcatel to my father since he is less experienced with phones, and it has the simple mode GUI and louder speakers. Then gave the LG to my mother and bought another LG for myself.

We were both using the Samsung Galaxy Centura and this is a huge upgrade from that. I just got my one touch pop and when I take a picture and go to look at it it says no thumbnail Got another streaming question.

FYI - on some phones pressing the power button and volume down will wipe out all of your customization. That happened on my LG Optimus Dynamic 2 - it reset the whole phone. My photos wre still on the SD card, but everything on internal storage was wiped clean!

How long is the battery life for this phone? With moderate usage, it has been taking 6 hours for power to drain. Is that normal or is there something wrong? That's great question along with some others here.

I'm not into the smartphone but I took a chance on ordering the Pop Icon, I just as confused as before I got this. I purchased a 16 GB card and for what I ask. I tried to stop all notification alerts for eating up my data and text minutes but nothing happened.

We just bought this phone and are having problems with assigning ringtones to our contacts. It says that it is set but when someone calls, it rings with the default ring tone.

Is anyone having a problem with this? Are we doing something wrong? Any assistance would be appreciated. We are having problems assigning ring tones to contacts. Is anyone else having this problem?

Could it be a problem with the phone? Is their something we are not checking or unchecking? We followed the steps in the manual. The following is what I did to assign a ringtone to a specific contact: Select the green phone symbol on the lower left side of the phones screen 2.

Find the specific contact that you have already set up in your address book to display it on the phones screen. When you have the specific contact displayed on your screen, press the Menu symbol on the lower right of your screen.

The symbol looks like a longer line with three short lines below it. This will display more options and the forth option listed will be - "Set Ringtone" 4. When you select "Ringtone", a list of ringtones will come up.

Select the one you want to assign to this contact and select "Ok" at the bottom of this list. There will be a dot to the right side of the ringtone that needs to be selected. It will play those apps.

Just don't do a lot of streaming if you're worried about using up data. The package says Net Do you think I can use it with Straight Talk since they are on the same carrier? Works great with Net10 unlimited plans.

This was the greatest move I have ever made by buying this phone. If you read the packaging it will tell you who it runs off of. Cdma-v is verison, a is att, and t is tmobile.

If you look at the same phone at walmart you can see what I am talking about. We bought ours used so it didn't have the packaging. Thanks a bunch pcman There doesn't seem to be much I can find out about this phone from the VTech group.

I was really thinking about sending it back for the lack of support help from VTech group. Tracfone has an app that you can download from the Google Play store to help block telemarketers.

Can you set individual text tones for different contacts? And how do you get the ringtone to set for the phone? I followed the instructions and nothing. I'm having problems with my texts being delivered.

I have turned off, taken battery out, replaced and turned phone back on but still a hit and miss on the texts. The button just simply does not exist. You can use the cable that you charge the phone with Obviously you're not tech savy.

Copy from phone storage paste to sd storage. There's always a way no smartphone exists where you can't put files to your sd card. What is the best micro SD card to use for the Mega Alcatel one touch pop?

My phone will not mount a new micro SD card, and recommends formatting it. After formatting the micro SD card, the phone says that the card is damaged. I bought this smartphone -- my first smartphone ever, so I'm jazzed.

BUT such an app, i. Smart Thermometer at Google Play clearly states: My guess it does not, but I just don' know. Do you or anyone else know one way or another and where in Settings or otherwise to look for relevant info, stats?

The manual give instructions but I do not have the SMS default that it directs me to,?????? Thanks for any help. I researched this and it appears that if your text messages are self deleting after two weeks, it is likely that your settings are causing this behavior.

Here is a setting you might try: If you go to the Texting option, go into the multi-option setting. This is the key pad with the long line with three shorter lines below it.

On the bottom edge of your screen, it is the right most key pad. The next screen will have the Storage options described as, "Delete old messages as limits are reached.

This should stop the deletion of older messages. I'm not sure if this over time will max out your memory limits but for the time being it won't delete any messages. Do you have an SD storage card and if so, have you defaulted your Storage settings to save your data to it?

The info above may not help disregard for now - please try this instead. I also discovered that under settings, I found that there is also the Text Message Limit setting. Mine is set to "19". This appears to be the default, I assume this as I have never changed mine since I got the phone.

The means that when it reaches 19 messages, the 20th one will be deleted. So you will need to increase to a much higher number. I occasionally I find that I need to refer back to an old text for some info sent to me buts it's rare.

Again, the phone will need to store all these extra messages so you will consume extra memory storage space and should use an SD card for all the extra data. I ran into this headache several times.

Two gigs of main storage fills up fast after you load up on apps. This phone has some really nice specs and is blazing fast but the 2gb of space is a JOKE. And it's not so funny.

You can put hardly anything on it without it saying storage is low. And those of you who keep saying put it on the sd card are not hearing the problem. The problem is APPS. A couple of BIG ones and a dozen small ones and you're full.

That is a message indicator light. It blinks when you get a new text or e-mail. It will go out once you check the text or message. Purchased 2 cases from eBay and also a car charger. I got my case from eBay.

Mine is a nice rubberized case so you get a good grip on it and it has a kickstand to prop it up. Per the Wikipedia article about Tracfone: When I send texts to iPhones, sometimes, not always, the receiver gets signs instead of my text message.

Does this happen to anyone else and how to I fix the problem? The photos my phone takes are too big to text. Is there any way to adjust the resolution of my photos?

I have experienced this as well. Also, sometimes the receiver gets the sign at the being of a text with some other random characters. I contacted Alcatel and they told me to contact tracfone.

Very random and it isn't just to iPhone uses. A freind with an oldertracfone model just received the too. I am getting this phone since I am visually impaired and need to know how to get to simple mode.

I am not "computer or smartphone savvy". Please email instructions to wnahughes yahoo. I just bought mine new on Ebay and it had a bogus phone number with zeros as an area code. Didn't work even after putting 1-year pin number.

Still waiting for Tracfone to reply as number is only answered in the morning. This is the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned in my life. My latest dissatisfaction is that It won't hold a charge for more than 12 hours on standby, and God forbid I should make even a short phone call.

I'm getting rid of this thing. I wouldn't trust any different make's case to match up to all the openings and buttons. Lin, sounds like a bad battery or power-hungry apps running in the background.

I've had mine since November and often don't charge it for a couple days. Any idea how to turn off the notification sound every time you pass a wi fi network? My husband's phone is driving him crazy doing this, Google search didn't help.

Oh, and we are old and not real tech savvy lol. I just read today that Google intentionally reduced memory to format kit-kat with all cheap phones with the earlier versions jelly bean, etc. I'm pulling my teeth out because we have to pay for all those memory bytes we don't got no more.

And the editor mentioned buy no phone less than 16 gigs preferably 32! I read on yahoo that a virus named straight forward I believe is how it was spelled said that Android 2. I bought Alcatel Android ipop in January and have had three viruses had to factory reset my phone and straight talk can't fix the issue either, Any suggestions????

I agree with Lucy. Using my phone with the Net10 unlimited plan and 40 bucks a month for all the smartphone features never felt so good. Have been using mine for 3 months and all is well.

Purchased mine at a local grocery store on sale for Data Connection should be enabled and check if your phone has enough bars on the reception bar. Tracfone tech support told me that you need at least 2 for text or media messages to be delivered.

Tap on the menu which is the bottom right part of the phone that has four lines. Tap Advanced and uncheck Network Notification to turn it off. I can't find out why it's doing this and all I can do is restart.

I understand this is happening on some other brands of Android phones, too. And my Mac desktop can even read it. My Alcatel One touch Pop phone all of a sudden has no sound.

The phone rings with vibrate only but no rings. It's like the speaker is muted, but it's not. Not sure what to do. Any thoughts from anyone? Bought the phone in May, Only a few months old.

I need to do a factory data reset. Will that delete all my tracfone account and remaining minutes? I have had my phone since Dec and I love it except for two things. The internal memory is too small 2gbs.

I am constantly deleting apps to make room for new apps. Also the pre added app with the ICE contacts is awful I would love to be able to remove it but don't know how Otherwise, the phone is great!

I agree that 2gbs runs out fast. I've been through the "remove this app to update that app" situation several times. The designers could have at least doubled the internal ram and that would have made all the difference.

Unfortunately, you can't remove the ICE or any of the add-ons that came with the phone. I've been through that. Nice blog and discussion. I'm glad I stumbled on this. My Dad recently got this phone as his first smart phone.

He can be using various applications on Wifi - gmail, chrome - and it has happened at a couple locations. The only way he was able to get out of it was holding the power button for several seconds to restart the phone.

He hasn't loaded any apps on the phone except for the Tracfone app. I don't see others complaining of this There are no systems updates he seems to be lacking, as best as I could tell.

I had a similar issue with my phone as you described a few months ago. I had contacted Tracfone support and the rep sent a number of codes to the phone to reset it. After that, the phone worked fine.

You might try their support before anything else. TracfoneReviewer will continue to update this post as more information is available. This phone was released by Tracfone rather quickly, along with the LG Ultimate 2.

Tracfone is moving a little faster at adding new Android smartphones to their lineup that already includes several other options. But until now they were lacking a smartphone with a larger screen size, and the Alcatel Onetouch and LG Ultimate 2 appears to fill that void.

The previous screen size options were the LG Optimus Fuel with a 3. In case you're wondering like we were, here is the breakdown of why the name is so long. Let's look at what you can expect from the Alcatel Icon Pop.

This is the same as Tracfone's other Smartphone offerings at this time. The 5" touchscreen is obviously the most noticeable feature on the Alcatel AC, but there are several other features that are very exciting for Tracfone users who are looking for an upgrade on their current phones.

Time to take a closer look at the Icon Pop features and specs. Let's take a closer look. One of the big features is the processor and RAM on the Icon pop. With a quad core and 1 GB, it should be able to keep up with your needs.

Another big feature on the Alcatel Onetouch Icon Pop is the camera. It has a 5MP rear camera plus a 0. And after looking through sources, it appears to have autofocus. The Ultimate 2 also has a 5MP camera with autofocus, and 1.

But the Moto E only has a 5MP rear camera and no autofocus. Lastly, the 5" screen is a nice feature, and a bit bigger than the other smartphones from Tracfone at this time as we mentioned above.

This phone brings some great new features to the table with a 5" screen and quad core processor. While this phone is still at the low end of the smartphone market, it is ahead of many of Tracfone's other devices.

Each new phone that Tracfone releases pushes the list of features further and further into what other carriers are using. Tracfone is still behind the curve, but they are trying to catch up.

It is unlikely they will ever sell top of the line phones with their prepaid service, but at least users can get some newer tech. Spec-wise, it does have more processing cores, and a larger screen, but each user must choose what is important to themselves when selecting a phone.

Not everyone, for example, wants a 5" screen. The Alcatel will be great for those looking for a big phone, and looking to impress with a large screen. Although these days, 6" screens or bigger seems to be necessary.

Granted, the first two weeks I had the phone it worked great, but then by the third week the screen started freezing up, it started shutting off on its own and when I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't turn on, it only holds a charge for half a day, and the back of the phone is extremely warm even when I do not use it.

I do NOT recommend anybody to get this phone, waste of money. I am always on wifi so maybe that makes a difference? The phone is fast and responsive. It is next to impossible to move files to the sd card so limited space.

For a cheap phone it is pretty good, just be careful with the charging port. Keep the cord level with the phone. Do not let the cord hang from the charging port.

I broke my first one that way. My parents are cheep, I would love an iphone but they can get really expensive so, I was stuck with this. The phone worked great for two months then it just drained battery so fast.

I hardly use the phone I use my ipod for everything. Then the phone started turning off on its own and wouldn't come back on until I removed the battery 8 times. My mom wont get me a new phone even though this one doesn't work because she had the same one "it works perfectly fine" is what she keeps telling me.

You shouldn't have to waist five minutes to make a phone call. Reviewed on Sunday August 23, by Emily, thedford. Freezes when you don't want it to, also have problems when trying to text someone.

Waste of of money and worst phone I have ever had. Poor quality including battery! First of all, the complaint about not being able to put apps on the SD Card is due to Android 4.

Second, the claim WiFi doesn't work is way off. It runs fine on my phone from my home router and any free WiFi restaurant, hotel, friend's house, etc. Third, the claim of no music from the SD Card is wrong.

In general, there's little I don't like about this phone except the relatively poor photo quality. This loan was a little hard to understand, at first, but that was largely due to not reading the manual.

Someone complained about not being able to delete contacts. I don't use a lot of apps, so storage space is not an issue. Wish the front camera was better, but I have taken some nice selfies, uploaded to FaceBook or sent to others and the pictures came out nice.

It is all about the lighting. Still trying to figure out some of the other features. Perhaps, I will read the manual. I thought it was decent price for an Android and I do love the 5" screen.

The phone freezes during phone calls, so you can't hang up calls. Battery gets extremely hot during calls. Not reliable screen freeze when u don't want it to. Dont ever get this phone Reviewed on Wednesday July 8, by Michael, 8 park circle.

This phone is actually trash and isnt worth buying it. How can this be? I won't have any problems with internal storage. This Pop Icon has twice that amount of storage!

I discovered that my data pics could be migrated to SD and I can now install a few more apps. You'll find out that even having 2 Gigs, you do runout of space over time.

It appears to suit my needs for now. Check with a tracfone rep to make sure. This model did come up once but they must have run out of stock as it doesn't show for me anymore.

I found mine on Amazon and it works fine in the Wash DC area even though it no longer shows up on the Tracfone site. I do not use my phone for photography. The only thing you can do is remove some apps you are not going to use until someone figures a way around this problem.

Some apps take a lot of memory.
